November Rain - Gun's and Roses

Noviembre acaba con frío y lluvioso, esto me ha recordado a la canción de Gun's And Roses, "November Rain". El autor es como no, Axl Rose, que al parecer llevaba dandole vueltas a la letra desde principios de la decada de los 80, pero se hizo pública hasta en 1991 incluida en el disco "Use Your Illusion I", en 1992 se hizo famosa por su videoclip, el cual ganó el premio MTV a la mejor cinematografía. Tanto la cancion como el videoclip estan dedicados al amor entre Axl y su novia. Lo que quiere reflejar Axl es el va y ven de una relación, y como bien dice al final, nada dura por siempre incluso la fría lluvia de noviembre.

Suspicious Minds - Elvis Presley

Echamos la vista atrás hasta el año 69 en el que rey del rock & roll, Elvis Presley, sacó un single llamado "Suspicious Minds" el cual sería su último número uno. Originalmente la canción fue compuesta e interpretada en 1956 por Mark James. Se trata de una balada en la que el cantante pide a su pareja que confíe en él. En es mismo año, Elvis también  versionó "In The Getto", de Mac Davis, con el titulo "The vicious circle", canción que recomiendo escuchar.

Hope There's Someone - Antony and the Johnsons

Hoy posteo la canción un poco tarde ya que no he tenido mucho tiempo para decidir que cancion sería, pero finalmente he elegido "Hope There's Someone" de "Antony and the Johnsons", es una gran canción que descubrí gracias a un anuncio. Esta cancion publicada en 2005 pertenece a su segundo disco "I Am a Bird Now". En ella, Anthony refleja su preocupación acerca de la muerte,  con una voz suave casi susurrando da un toque melancólico mientras que el piano consigue crear un ambiente acogedor. Solo me queda desear que la disfrutéis.

Johnny B. Goode - Chuck Berry

Hoy toca conocer un poco los inicios del rock & roll de la mano de Chuck Berry y su Johny B. Goode. Esta canción, fue escrita por Chuck en 1958 y se considera una de las primeras canciones de rock & roll puro. Narra la historia de como chico de pueblo que apenas sabe escribir, empieza a abrirse paso por la vida con la ayuda de su guitarra. Es considerada una de las mejores canciones de todos los tiempo, por lo menos así aparece en la revista "Rolling Stone", la cual la califica también como la mejor del genero rock.

Yesterday - The Beatles

Bueno la segunda cancion que quiero compartir es la de "Yesterday", de los grandisimos del rock "The Beatles". Fué compuesta por Paul McCartney e incluida en el álbum "Help!" en el año 1965. Se trata de la canción mas transmitida por radio llegando a los seis millones de transmisiones en EEUU, que se dice pronto. También es la mas versionada de toda la historia teniendo 3000 versiones diferentes. Esta magnifica balada habla del anhelo que el cantante (MCartney) siente por una mujer que pertenece al pasado, para mi es una de las grandes canciones de amor de todos los tiempos. Se la quiero dedicar a un amigo que se que le encanta este grupo.

What a wonderfull world - Louis Armstrong

Hola a todos! me gustaría estrenar el blog con What a wonderfull world, canción interpretada por primera vez en 1967 en la voz de Louis Armstrong. Fue escrita por Bob Thiele y George David Weiss expresamente  para este gran cantante, la convirtiera en una de las mejores canciones de la historia. Louis con tono gozoso pretende transmitir el cariño hacia las pequeñas cosas y gestos que vemos a diario, que son lo que realmente hacen de este, un mundo maravilloso.

La canción está incluida en la banda sonora de “Good Morning, Vietnam”, protagonizada  por uno de mis actores preferidos, Robin Williams.
